Monteath & Powys has been involved with the development of Stages 1 and 2 of the Honeysuckle Development and we have now completed the preliminary work for Stage 3.
Leading the team over all three stages was the Director in charge of property surveying, Robert Monteath. Robert explained:
"There have been some interesting challenges associated with Honeysuckle. The fact that we were working so close to the Harbour was one of them. For example, when the site was being excavated for the underground car park for Stages 1 and 2, the floor finished below sea level.
Stages 1 and 2, north and south of Honeysuckle Drive, consist of 150 units plus ground floor retail. Once the excavation for these was completed, water had to be pumped out and kept dry before any further work could proceed."
Preliminary survey work for Stage 3 and the northern side have now been completed. A development application and preliminary strata plan was lodged with Newcastle City Council.
