The project value for Tomago Aluminium Smelter is approximately $230 million. The project aims to adapt and install technology updates to the existing plant to provide greater productivity without the construction of an entirely new plant.

We were contracted to provide surveying services for this project including:

• Precise as-built surveys of existing plant to enable design of interface
• Set out surveys for construction
• Monitoring surveys to ensure stability of existing structures
• Audit to certify completion
• Engineering surveys to certify completion
• Engineering surveys of machine tolerances
• Provision of plans and reports detailing dimensions, compliance, alignments and levels

Our involvement included survey works for the site expansion and development and providing regular ongoing data to monitor deformation of structures, volume of material stocks and solutions to mis-alignment of equipment and structures.

This has been a long term retainer as we have offered services to Tomago Aluminium since the original site development in 1980.
